Vikram Mangalmurti has spent much of his career working at the intersection of health care delivery, health insurance, and policy, with a focus on helping organizations focus on the consumers and communities they serve. His experience spans health systems, insurers, start-ups, and consulting. He has worked on projects related to access to care, value-based payment models, organizational operations, and program design. Across these roles, he has partnered to help translate policy goals into workable programs on the ground.

Vikram served in several leadership roles in health care and health innovation, including as Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel of a molecular diagnostics laboratory and as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of a retail health insurance start-up. He also served as a Vice President at a major Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan, where he worked on value-based care initiatives and the operational and strategic positioning of the organization in response to the Affordable Care Act. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant at Oliver Wyman and Deloitte, advising health systems, insurers, and Fortune 1000 companies on strategy and operations.

In addition to his health care and consulting work, Vikram has been involved in legal education and professional development. He most recently worked with law students at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he helped them think more clearly about career paths, professional skills, and the practical realities of legal careers. While at the law school he also served as an adjunct professor teaching Business Fundamentals for Lawyers

Vikram is especially interested in efforts that focus on the health of the “whole person” and “whole community.” He values collaboration, clear communication, and building partnerships across sectors to improve outcomes for individuals and families.
